The Turkmenistan traditional karate team, led by Diyar Hojayev, successfully competed at an international tournament in Belgrade, Serbia. Following the competition, the Turkmen athletes won two medals in the individual kumite event for the 21-34 age group.

Selim Myratdurdyev won the gold medal, placing first in his category. Eziz Zekeryayev took bronze.
