On December 3, in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan's Minister of Education, J. Gurbangeldiyev, and the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Turkmenistan, Ms. Faryal Leghari, discussed strengthening cooperation between the two countries' universities during a business meeting.
The parties discussed issues related to the effective implementation of existing mutual cooperation agreements, as well as increasing their number, according to the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
The Minister briefed the Ambassador on efforts to improve the quality of education in line with best international practices, as well as on the achievements of the national education system. The active participation of Pakistani youth in international conferences, competitions, and Olympiads held by Turkmenistan's universities was praised as a fruitful indicator of cooperation.
The parties discussed a number of ideas for expanding cooperation in the field of education.
Ambassador Faryal Leghari praised the ongoing educational reforms in Turkmenistan and expressed interest in further expanding cooperation between the two countries' educational institutions. Specifically, the ambassador highlighted opportunities for Turkmen youth to study at Pakistani universities on scholarships, as well as for organizing mutual study tours for educational delegations from both countries.
