Turkmen students won medals at the International Mathematical Olympiad, which took place from November 25 to 30 at the Patrice Lumumba Peoples' Friendship University of Russia in Moscow.
Students from the Faculty of Digital Technologies and Cybersecurity at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas successfully competed in the Olympiad. Kerimguly Bendov took first place in the individual competition and received a gold medal, while Islam Haitmuhammedov took third place and a bronze medal, according to the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
Students from higher education institutions of the Republic of Austria, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Republic of Poland, the Republic of Slovenia, the Italian Republic, the Kingdom of Spain, the Federal Republic of Germany and the French Republic also took part in this competition.
Turkmenistan was represented by students from the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas, Magtymguly Turkmen State University, the Turkmen Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics, the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management, the International University for the Humanities and Development, the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University, the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering, and the Turkmen State Energy Institute.
