Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will pay a state visit to Turkmenistan next week. This was announced by Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar at a meeting with journalists in Istanbul.
"Next week we will travel to Ashgabat together with President Erdogan... This will be a state visit," TASS quotes Bayraktar as saying.
According to the minister, the visit will include discussions on cooperation in natural gas supplies. Bayraktar noted that the start of gas supplies from Turkmenistan is important news for both the Turkish and European markets, as there is significant potential for Turkmen gas to be delivered to Europe via the Southern Gas Corridor.
