Over 33 years of partnership, Turkmenistan and Romania have accumulated vast experience in mutually beneficial cooperation on a bilateral basis and within international structures, demonstrating shared positions on pressing issues of international and regional geopolitics. This was stated by Turkmenistan's Minister of Finance and Economy, Mammetguly Astanagulov, during a gala reception marking Romania's National Day.
According to him, the Joint Turkmen-Romanian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, as well as the Turkmen-Romanian working groups on cooperation in the energy and transport sectors, make an important contribution to cooperation between the countries.
Astanagulov emphasized that the development of cooperation is facilitated by the countries' desire to develop various mechanisms of interaction aimed at the effective implementation of joint projects in energy, industry, transport, agriculture, tourism, and the humanitarian sector.
The minister also noted the important role of educational cooperation. "Currently, around 400 Turkmen students are studying in Romania. This unites our efforts to strengthen the friendship and historical ties between our countries," he emphasized.
