Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in the Republic of Kazakhstan on Monday for a state visit, the Turkmenistan newspaper reported.
At Astana International Airport, decorated with the national flags of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, an honor guard was formed in honor of the distinguished guest. Kazakh officials and members of the Turkmen government delegation greeted Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the steps of his plane.
The main part of the visit is scheduled for tomorrow, November 25, and will include high-level Turkmen-Kazakh negotiations. Following the meeting, the signing of a package of bilateral documents aimed at strengthening multilateral cooperation is expected.
The current visit takes place against the backdrop of the 33rd anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which was celebrated in October. Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan are engaged in an active political dialogue, successfully developing partnerships in various fields and providing mutual support within the UN and other international organizations, the publication notes.
This is President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's third visit to Kazakhstan this year. He previously participated in the Central Asia-Italy and Central Asia-China summits, both held in Astana.
