Baku is ready to host a performance by the Turkmen National Equestrian Games Group "Galkynysh" in March 2026.
This was discussed in Baku during meetings between the Turkmen delegation, led by Pygy Bayramdurdiyev, Rector of the International Horse Breeding Academy, and Colonel-General Elchin Guliyev, President of the Equestrian Federation of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the State Border Service, as well as Allahverdi Israfilov, Director of the Sea Breeze Circus.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the meetings discussed strengthening bilateral cultural ties in the field of equestrian sports and national equestrian games, exchanging experiences, further developing existing cooperation, and familiarizing the two countries with the infrastructure created in Azerbaijan in this area.
A Turkmen delegation visited Azerbaijan from November 14 to 18 to familiarize themselves with the horse-breeding infrastructure established there. The Turkmen representatives visited the Bina and Serkhetchi equestrian centers, where they learned about the work being done to develop national horsemanship and equestrian sports traditions, the source notes.
