On November 10, a ceremony dedicated to the memory of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Turkish Republic, was held in the capital of Turkmenistan. The Deputy Mayor of Ashgabat represented Turkmenistan at the event. The Turkish Ambassador to Ashgabat, Ahmet Demirok, also participated in the ceremony.
The event noted that Atatürk was a genius of his time, possessing superb leadership qualities, who succeeded in reviving the nation at a time when all hope was thought lost. Atatürk instilled hope and strength in the demoralized citizens of a devastated country, instilling in them the belief that "only the people will determine the destiny of the nation."
Participants of the ceremony laid wreaths at the Ataturk monument, located in one of the capital's parks.

After the event, a breakfast was organized for the participants at the Turkish Embassy.
