The Belarusian Ministry of Agriculture and Food announced the completion of the potato harvest. According to the ministry's latest data, large agricultural enterprises have harvested 675 thousand tons of potatoes, 125 thousand tons more than the 2024 target.
The current season's yield was also higher than last year's. The ministry attributes this to the effectiveness of agricultural technologies used and favorable weather conditions for growing the crop.
The harvested crop significantly exceeds domestic market demand, providing winter reserves and creating opportunities for expanded processing and increased exports. A similar situation exists with other vegetables—their production by agricultural organizations and farms also exceeds domestic demand.
All regions of the country exceeded their potato production plans compared to last year. Final figures will be updated after receiving reports from small-scale agricultural enterprises and peasant farms. According to preliminary estimates from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, this segment could add approximately 270 thousand tons to total production.
