A gala reception was held at the US State Department building in Washington, D.C., to mark the anniversary of the “C5+1” multilateral meeting, which brings together the countries of Central Asia and the United States.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the event was attended by the heads of the foreign affairs agencies of Central Asian states and the United States, as well as senators and members of the House of Representatives of the US Congress, government officials, and business representatives from countries in the region and the United States.
The “C5+1” format was founded in 2015 and has served for a decade as a platform for regular dialogue between Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and the United States. During the reception, it was emphasized that this historic event, marking the anniversary of the format's founding, is of great importance for further strengthening regional cooperation, comprehensive partnership, and mutual understanding among the participating countries.
Since the format's inception, cooperation priorities have expanded significantly – from security and counterterrorism issues to projects in the fields of economics, energy, trade, investment, and green energy.
As a reminder, on November 4, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in the United States on a working visit to participate in the "Central Asia + USA" Summit.
