President of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan Allaberdi Ashirov visited Baku to attend a meeting dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. The meeting was held on November 4 in the building of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the forum was attended by the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, members of the Academy's Presidium, as well as the heads and representatives of the Academies of Sciences of Turkey, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, China, Vietnam, Italy, Bulgaria, Montenegro, and international scientific organizations.

On behalf of the Turkmen side, Allaberdi Ashirov warmly congratulated the leadership and staff of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences on its 80th anniversary. He noted that, thanks to the efforts of the two heads of state, cooperation in science, education, and culture is steadily expanding.
During the speech, it was emphasized that, as part of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, the works of Magtymguly Fragi have been translated into Azerbaijani, the Magtymguly Fragi Center for Turkmen Literature has been opened at the Nizami Genjavi Institute of Literature, and a number of international scientific conferences dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet and thinker have been held.
Foreign guests also spoke at the meeting, congratulating Azerbaijani scientists on the Academy's anniversary and discussing prospects for further cooperation, the source noted.
