Former England and “Manchester United” footballer David Beckham was knighted by King Charles III. The ceremony took place at Windsor Castle, according to sports.ru.
The 50-year-old athlete was awarded Britain's highest honor for his outstanding contribution to sport and philanthropy. The ceremony was attended by his wife, Victoria, now Lady Beckham, and family members.
This isn't Beckham's first royal award. In 2003, he was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
During his career with “Manchester United”, Beckham scored 85 goals. He also played a key role in organizing the 2012 London Olympics. Since 2005, the footballer has been a UNICEF ambassador, and in 2024, he was appointed an ambassador for The Royal Foundation, where he works closely with King Charles III.
