An official reception was held at the residence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Turkmenistan to mark the 102nd anniversary of the proclamation of the Turkish Republic. The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Hojamyrat Geldymuradov, representatives of the diplomatic corps, and business circles.
At the reception, Ambassador Ahmet Demirok read a message from the President of the Republic of Türkiye addressed to Turkish citizens and Türkiye’s friends around the world. In his address, the Turkish head of state emphasized the importance of the Republic as "the last bastion of a selfless people" and noted the country's successes in achieving the goals of the "Turkish Century" in the defense industry, economy, education, and energy sectors.
Speaking at the reception, H. Geldymuradov particularly noted the high level of bilateral relations, developing thanks to the efforts of the heads of state.
Trade and Economic Partnership: Türkiye is one of Turkmenistan's main foreign economic partners. Currently, approximately 200 Turkish companies successfully operate in the country, demonstrating mutual trust and a high level of interest in cooperation.
Priority sectors: Active cooperation exists in trade and economics, industry, energy, construction, textiles, transportation, and agriculture. Turkish companies have been making a significant contribution to the implementation of major projects in these areas since the early days of Turkmenistan's independence.
Investments and Technology: Priority objectives include increasing trade turnover, diversifying export and import structures, and developing industrial cooperation and technology exchange. Work in this area is being conducted within the framework of the Turkmen-Turkish intergovernmental group on economic cooperation.
Cultural and humanitarian sphere: Cooperation in science and education, sports, healthcare, and culture is developing successfully. Student exchanges, cultural festivals, scientific conferences, and cultural days strengthen friendship and spiritual affinity between peoples.
Geldymuradov emphasized that Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's legacy continues to serve as an important foundation for the development of modern Türkiye and the strengthening of its international authority. Turkmen-Turkish relations are built on centuries-old cultural traditions, spiritual values, and shared historical roots.
The reception included a rich cultural program featuring performances and dances from various countries. Participants were treated to a variety of traditional Turkish dishes, creating an atmosphere of hospitality and friendship.
