Former US Vice President Kamala Harris announced her intention to run for president in the 2028 election. She made the announcement in an interview with the British television channel BBC.
Asked about retiring from politics, Harris noted that it's not the end. "I've dedicated my whole life to politics; it's in my blood," she said. She added that she is considering a second run for president.
Harris expressed confidence in her abilities despite lagging significantly behind other potential candidates in opinion polls. "If I had listened to the polls, I wouldn't have run either the first or second time," the former vice president emphasized.
In the 2024 presidential election, Kamala Harris lost to Donald Trump, who took office as President of the United States on January 20, 2025.
