Türkiye is interested in long-term and large-scale gas supplies from Turkmenistan. This was stated by Abdulvahit Fidan, CEO of the Turkish state oil and gas company Botas, speaking at the international conference "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan."
"The Turkish leadership has set the goal of ensuring long-term and large-scale supplies of Turkmen gas to Türkiye. Achieving this goal will be a turning point not only for Turkmenistan and Türkiye, but for the entire region," he said.
Fidan noted that Türkiye began receiving Turkmen gas in March of this year. Currently, supplies are transited through Iran. He stated that by establishing a reliable gas connection with Türkiye’s infrastructure, Turkmenistan will gain direct access to international markets.
“Botas is fully prepared to carry out all necessary actions under the government’s leadership to implement this breakthrough project, which is expected to transform energy supply routes in the region,” the company’s head emphasized.
