Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received credentials from newly appointed Indian Ambassador Bandaru Wilsonbabu, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
The diplomat conveyed greetings from Indian President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "It is a great honor for me to represent my country in Turkmenistan, which is confidently pursuing a path of large-scale transformation," the ambassador noted.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the diplomat on his appointment and wished him success in his work aimed at expanding bilateral relations.
As noted at the meeting, Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening ties with India. Bilateral cooperation is developing in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, energy, transport, educational, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.
Particular attention was paid to the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) transnational gas pipeline project. The parties emphasized that its implementation will ensure energy security in the region and boost the economic development of the participating countries.
The President of Turkmenistan noted the growing interest among young people in learning the Indian language and the development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the countries.
The ambassador assured the Turkmen leader that he would make every effort to strengthen the traditionally friendly ties between the two countries.
