Uzbekistan is ready to participate in hydrocarbon production projects in Turkmenistan, according to Deputy Energy Minister Azizkhodzha Kobilov.
"Uzbekistan is ready to participate in hydrocarbon production projects in Turkmenistan, strengthening long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships," Kobilov said, speaking at the international conference "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2025."
The Deputy Minister noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan in the energy and oil and gas sectors is one of the key areas of bilateral cooperation. In particular, supplies of Turkmen electricity, natural gas, gas condensate, and other petroleum products have been established to Uzbekistan.
According to him, Turkmenistan has enormous untapped hydrocarbon potential, the development of which will make a significant contribution to energy security both in the region and internationally.
"We believe it is important to combine the potential and experience of our countries in priority areas such as hydrocarbon production and processing, the development of the gas chemical industry, as well as the implementation of modern technologies and increased energy efficiency in production," Kobilov said.
The Deputy Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan added that joint work in these areas will contribute to strengthening mutual energy resilience, creating new high-value-added production chains, and ensuring sustainable economic growth for the entire region.
