Turkmenistan will provide assistance to residents of Afghanistan affected by the earthquake. This was announced by the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during a working meeting in the city of Arkadag, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
As Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted, during his recent visit to Afghanistan, which took place in connection with the launch of the next stage of construction of the TAPI gas pipeline along the Serhetabat-Herat route, the Afghan side requested assistance for residents left homeless as a result of the earthquake.
"We must extend a hand of friendship to the Afghan people and provide them with assistance," said the National Leader of the Turkmen People. He instructed the Chairman of the State Committee for Construction of the City of Arkadag, D. Orazov, to prepare proposals on this matter and submit them to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for consideration.
The National Leader emphasized that providing assistance to a neighboring state reflects the humanistic principles of the Turkmen people and their desire for good deeds. "Throughout history, our people have followed their primordial good traditions, which are now being worthy of continuation," he added.
