Turkmen filmmaker Sahysalyh Bayramov's film "Daragt" was awarded a special jury diploma at the 2nd Toji Somon International Film Festival in Dushanbe.
The prize was awarded "for its vibrant portrayal of the theme of female fidelity," according to Turkmenistan: Golden Age.
The film "Daragt," produced by the Oguzhan Turkmenfilm Association, has won numerous awards at international film festivals. The film tells the story of a Turkmen family, in which the main character, Nazik, sees her husband off to the front and awaits his return. An apricot tree, once planted by the newlyweds, becomes a symbol of hope for her.
In addition to the film "Daragt," the feature film "Composer" by director Maksat Gylyjov was shown to audiences at the festival as part of Turkmenistan Day.
The 2nd Toji Somon International Film Festival became a significant event, promoting the development of cinematography, preserving cultural heritage, and promoting national cultural values. The festival also provided a unique platform for the exchange of professional experiences between filmmakers from various countries, thereby deepening intercultural dialogue in the field of cinema.
The event included a meeting of the Board of Directors of film studios, screenings of feature, live-action, and documentary films, and a conference featuring renowned filmmakers from near and far. The program concluded with an International Film Forum dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the birth of renowned Tajik film director and winner of the A. Rudaki State Prize of Tajikistan, Bakhtiyor Khudoynazarov.
