A representative delegation from Turkmenistan's education sector traveled to the United States on a working visit to expand practical cooperation between educational institutions.
The delegation intends to sign memoranda of understanding, identify mechanisms for academic exchanges between students and faculty, and discuss the implementation of joint projects in education, science, and technology, according to the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
The first stop of the visit was Northwest College in Wyoming. Further visits are planned to Montana State University Billings (Billings), the University of Montana (Missoula), Montana State University (Bozeman), and the University of Wyoming (Laramie), as well as a series of meetings in Washington, D.C., on online learning, technology diplomacy, and the development of modern educational programs.
The visit's program is built on a strictly practical approach: each meeting and discussion is accompanied by specific proposals that already have well-developed implementation mechanisms and clear, measurable performance indicators.
As representatives of both sides emphasize, cooperation between educational institutions in Turkmenistan and the United States is developing steadily and productively. A significant boost was provided by the signing of an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in education in 2023, which opened up new opportunities for collaboration between universities, colleges, and research centers in the two countries.
Particular importance is attached to the partnership with Kent State University and the participation of Turkmen students and faculty in international educational programs, including academic exchanges, internships, and professional development courses, the source notes.
