The construction of a new mineral fertilizer production complex will eliminate the need for phosphate fertilizer imports and meet the needs of domestic agricultural producers. This was announced by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the groundbreaking ceremony for the facility at the S.A. Niyazov Turkmenabat Chemical Plant in the Lebap region.
"The new complex is designed to ensure a reliable supply of high-quality phosphorus fertilizer to agricultural producers and domestic consumers, and will create the opportunity to strengthen the food security of the independent state and produce phosphorus fertilizers imported from abroad. The new facility will produce 350 thousand tons of superphosphate and 100 thousand tons of ammonium sulfate annually. Once the complex is commissioned, the potential of the country's chemical industry will significantly increase," the head of state said. The text of his speech was published on the State News Agency of Turkmenistan website.
The project is being implemented by the South Korean company Daewoo. Innovative technologies that meet environmental requirements will be used during construction. The head of state noted that the commissioning of the modern chemical plant will create additional jobs. Most of the specialists will be trained at foreign universities, and all necessary conditions will be created for their work.
