According to the results recently published by the British organization Times Higher Education (THE), 13 universities in Turkmenistan were included in the new 22nd edition of the THE World University Rankings 2026 with the status of "reporter".

According to "Turkmenistan: Golden Age," these include:

1. The D. Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages;

2. The Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan;

3. Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan;

4. International University of Humanities and Development;

5. Magtymguly Turkmen State University;

6. M. Garryev State Medical University of Turkmenistan;

7. Oguz han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan;

8. State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan;

9. Turkmen Agricultural Institute;

10. S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University;

11. Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction;

12. Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management;

13. Turkmen State Institute of Finance.

Universities are ranked by international experts at THE using a cutting-edge methodology that allows for a comprehensive assessment of higher education institutions. It is based on 18 carefully calibrated indicators measuring the effectiveness of universities in five key areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement, and international perspectives.

The 22nd edition of THE World University Rankings 2026 includes 2,191 universities from 115 countries and territories.
