On October 10, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Azerbaijan held a briefing in Baku to mark the groundbreaking ceremony for a mosque in the city of Fuzuli, which will be built by Turkmenistan as a gift to Azerbaijan.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, representatives of the Government and public associations of Azerbaijan, ambassadors of Turkic-speaking states to the Republic of Azerbaijan, political scientists, and leading media outlets of the country took part in the briefing.
The event participants expressed their sincere gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan, as well as to the entire Turkmen people, for the mosque being built in the city of Fizuli, which will be built with funds from the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care.
The symbolism of the groundbreaking ceremony for the mosque in Fuzuli, held as part of the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic-Speaking States, is that for the first time in history, Turkic states jointly laid the foundation of a mosque, which is a blessed place for Muslims.
Briefing participants also emphasized that this initiative will make a significant contribution to strengthening relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as all Turkic-speaking states. It was especially noted that the Azerbaijani people highly value this gift, which demonstrates the unity of the two countries.
