In Brussels, on the sidelines of the second Global Gateway 2025 Forum, Turkmenistan's Minister of Finance and Economy Mammetguly Astanagulov held a meeting with representatives of the European Investment Bank (EIB).
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the parties discussed practical issues of cooperation and a draft country agreement.
Cooperation with the EIB is consistent with the priorities of the Global Gateway 2025 Forum, which is dedicated to deepening mutually beneficial partnerships and promoting sustainable infrastructure connectivity at the global level, including the launch and expansion of investments in energy and infrastructure projects through Team Europe and international financial institutions.
In the context of expanding financial instruments, the forum discussed deepening cooperation with international development banks, including the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), to mobilize investment in infrastructure and job creation. Emphasis was placed on the country's readiness to increase investment in energy projects in Central Asia.
The participation of the Turkmenistan delegation in the Global Gateway 2025 Forum facilitated substantive exchanges on sustainable infrastructure financing and expanded direct working contacts with EU institutions and international financial organizations.
The final remarks on the results of the work were made by the EU Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jozef Sikela.
