A modern 300-bed infectious diseases hospital has been commissioned in the Mary province of Turkmenistan. The opening of the medical facility was timed to coincide with the professional holiday of healthcare and medical industry workers, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
The new hospital was built in the Täze güýç gengeshlik of Mary etrap by the private enterprise Hil Merkezi on an area of approximately 9 hectares. The medical complex comprises 17 departments, including an admissions department, a consultative and diagnostic department, three pulmonary departments, a surgery department, a pediatrics department, an intensive care unit, as well as a laboratory and a health center.
All departments are equipped with modern medical equipment from leading manufacturers from the USA, UK, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, China, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, and Japan. The hospital has implemented a digital information system for patient registration and a pneumatic vacuum system for delivering biological samples to the laboratory.
Members of the Mejlis, heads of local governments, and heads of healthcare institutions attended the opening ceremony. The governor of the Mary velayat read a welcoming address from Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to healthcare workers.
On behalf of the head of state, emergency medical care and diagnostic vehicles were donated to the new hospital. Distinguished construction workers received commemorative gifts.
