Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree authorizing the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry to enter into a contract with the Turkish company Gap Inşaat Yatirim ve Diş Ticaret A.Ş. for the design and construction of a 500-bed multidisciplinary hospital in Ashgabat, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.
The contract provides for the construction of a medical facility with landscaping of the surrounding area, the provision of modern medical equipment, spare parts and consumables, as well as specialized personnel training.
According to the document, construction work is scheduled to begin in October 2025. The hospital is scheduled to open in February 2029.
The resolution was adopted to further develop the national healthcare system and strengthen its material and technical infrastructure, improving specialized medical services provided to the population using advanced technologies. The new healthcare facility will be equipped with modern medical equipment that meets international standards.
