On October 1, a gala reception was held at the “Grand Hotel Wien” in central Vienna to celebrate the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence and the declaration of 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust." The event was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Austria with the support of the Austrian-Turkmen Society.
The reception was attended by representatives of the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vienna City Hall, the diplomatic corps and international organizations accredited in Vienna, heads of Austrian ministries and departments, the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, heads of companies, Turkmen students, and media representatives.
Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Austria, Hemra Amannazarov, spoke about the country's historic transformations since independence under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen People Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as well as the development of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.

Chief of Protocol of the Austrian Foreign Ministry Maximilian Hennig noted the priorities of bilateral relations, based on the principles of friendship and mutual understanding.
Neda Berger, President of the Austrian-Turkmen Society, emphasized the importance of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, which has been affirmed three times by the UN General Assembly. She noted the similarity of the two countries' neutral status: Turkmenistan will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its neutrality on December 12, while Austria will celebrate the 70th anniversary of its permanent neutrality at the end of October.

An example of cooperation was the meeting between Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen on September 24 in New York during the 80th session of the UN, where the leaders discussed the development of business relations in the economic and cultural spheres.
The evening's musical program included performances by Turkmen musicians and singers featuring works of folk art. The reception included an exhibition of Turkmen national art and a selection of national cuisine.
