Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov will attend the second “Central Asia–Russia” Summit and the CIS Heads of State Council meeting, which will be held in Dushanbe on October 9–10, according to the Tajik Foreign Ministry.
On October 9, the second “Central Asia–Russia” Summit will take place in Dushanbe, with the participation of the presidents of Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Russia.
During the meeting, the heads of state will discuss a wide range of issues related to the development of multifaceted cooperation, as well as measures to coordinate actions in the fight against terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, and other transnational challenges.
Following the summit, it is planned to adopt a Final Communiqué and a Joint Action Plan.
On October 9, a meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers will also be held in Dushanbe, chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Mukhriddin.
The meeting's agenda included key issues of strengthening multilateral cooperation within the Commonwealth.
The heads of the foreign affairs agencies will discuss preparations for the CIS Heads of State Summit and exchange views on current issues on the international and regional agendas, including security, sustainable development, and coordination of actions on international platforms.
On October 10, a summit of CIS heads of state will be held at the Palace of the Nation in Dushanbe, chaired by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev are expected to attend.
The CIS heads of state will discuss current issues on the international agenda, including regional and global security.
Particular attention will be paid to further deepening political dialogue, strengthening trade and economic ties, and expanding cooperation in the humanitarian and cultural spheres within the Commonwealth.
Following the meeting, the leaders will sign a number of documents aimed at further strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation in a multilateral format.
