The Hydrogen Energy Center, established in 2022 at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas, is actively conducting research.
The center, in collaboration with leading international universities, research centers, and companies, is training highly qualified specialists in hydrogen energy and establishing an educational and scientific laboratory, according to the newspaper "Turkmenistan."
The Hydrogen Energy Center has conducted a series of research projects on producing hydrogen fuel from water using electrolysis. This resulted in the production of "green" hydrogen energy, and the center's specialists have created a laboratory setup for producing hydrogen fuel from natural gas using an innovative plasma-chemical method.
The hydrogen fuel obtained by this method was analyzed on an Agilent Technologies 6890 gas chromatograph and the formation of hydrogen and carbon black from natural gas was confirmed.
Let us remind that in 2025, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the University of Tsukuba (Japan) on cooperation in conducting joint scientific research in the field of hydrogen energy.
In 2026, it is planned to send faculty from the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas to the University of Tsukuba to participate in the proposed educational programs to improve their professional qualifications.
