Turkmen fighter Dovletjan Yagshimuradov lost to American Corey Anderson in the light heavyweight title fight at the Professional Fighters League (PFL) tournament in Dubai, ending his seven-fight winning streak. The American fighter won by decision.
Before this fight, Yagshimuradov had won seven straight fights. In November 2024, the Turkmen fighter won the PFL championship by knocking out Impa Kasanganay in the first round of the Light Heavyweight Grand Prix final.
Dovletjan confidently fought the first round against Corey, repeatedly stunning his opponent with powerful strikes and nearly knocking him out. Yagshimuradov controlled the fight on the feet, but Anderson eventually gained the upper hand, capitalizing on his wrestling superiority. The fourth round proved particularly difficult for the Turkmen fighter, as the American dominated the ground game.
This is Yagshimuradov's second defeat to the American; their first meeting took place in April 2021 at the Bellator 257 tournament.
