An event dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi's birthday (Gandhi Jayanti) was held at the Bagtyyarlyk Sports Complex in Ashgabat. The ceremony took place at the monument to the Indian public and political figure, according to the embassy's social media page.
The event was attended by the Chargé d'Affaires of the Indian Embassy, diplomatic mission staff, and representatives of the Turkmen public. Participants laid flowers at the monument to Mahatma Gandhi.
Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated annually on October 2, the birthday of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, known as Mahatma Gandhi, who played a key role in India's struggle for independence.
