Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will visit Turkmenistan to participate in the International Forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, scheduled for December 12. Pakistani Ambassador to Ashgabat Faryal Leghari announced this in an article published in the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper.
"The upcoming visit of the distinguished Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif this year to participate in the International Forum is a testament to Pakistan's respect for the leadership of Turkmenistan," the diplomat noted.
According to the ambassador, Turkmenistan and Pakistan's bilateral priorities are based on shared economic and energy interests. Joint projects, such as the TAPI gas pipeline and the TAP energy project, have become an important factor in bringing the two countries closer together in the energy sector.
Leghari emphasized that Pakistan highly values Turkmenistan's strategic energy resources and its leading role in shaping regional energy policy.
Within the framework of its "Central Asia Vision" policy, Pakistan proposed creating new trade and transport routes connecting Turkmenistan with Pakistan's domestic markets through the ports of Karachi and Gwadar.
