On September 10-11, the national seminar was held in the building of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan on the implementation of the TIR Convention (the Customs Convention on the International Cargo Transportation using the MDP book) and its 11th application regulating the functioning of the ETIR system (electronic TIR).
The event was organized with the support of the MDP Secretariat of the European Economic Commission of the UN (Geneva), the International Union of Road Transport (IRU) and the Association of International Automobile Reviews of Turkmenistan (ThaDA). This was reported on the customs service website.
The work of the seminar was attended by international experts: the Ganmi himself, the representative of the Secretariat of the MDP UN (Switzerland), Vakhtang Zarandy, the representative of IRU (Switzerland), Eleor Khakimov, the representative of the UN EMP Secretariat (Uzbekistan).
Participants discussed the legal and practical aspects of the application of the MDP Convention, as well as the role of the private sector in the development of the ETIR system. Particular attention was paid to the adaptation of the national application of ETIR and interaction with international partners.
