The Pakistani Embassy in Ashgabat has announced that it is accepting applications for the vacancy of a translator/protocol assistant. This was reported in the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan”.
The following requirements apply to applicants: higher education (bachelor's degree), preferably in the field of international relations, political science, public relations or English. A certificate in translation from English to Russian and vice versa is desirable.
The required work experience is at least three years in the field of translation and interpretation, preferably in diplomatic missions or international organizations.
The candidate must be fluent in English, Turkmen and Russian in oral and written form. A valid driver's license and at least five years of driving experience are required.
The applicant must have specialized technical translation skills, the ability to interact with high-ranking representatives of government agencies, industry, science, culture and the public of the host country, as well as with the diplomatic corps.
Such personal qualities as initiative, patience, attention to detail, diplomatic tact are required. The ability to quickly draft documents in any of the three specified languages and confident computer and text editor skills are required.
The candidate is expected to have a full knowledge of the protocol norms of the host country, the rules of etiquette and social values of Turkmenistan.
Pre-selected candidates will be invited for testing and interview. The salary will be determined depending on the applicant's qualifications and in line with market conditions.
