A large-scale campaign to harvest raw cotton has begun in Turkmenistan. Harvesting began simultaneously in all regions of the country, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
Modern equipment, including cotton harvesters, trucks and tractors with trailers, is used for the harvesting campaign. Round-the-clock technical maintenance of the machines is organized, conditions for the work of machine operators and pickers are created.
The first columns of equipment with the harvest, decorated with state flags and banners, arrived at the reception points and cotton ginning plants of the velayats.
Cotton growing is a key sector of the agro-industrial complex of Turkmenistan and plays an important role in import substitution programs and increasing export potential. The climate in the country is favorable for growing medium- and fine-fiber varieties of cotton.
Within the framework of the festive events to mark the start of the harvest, exhibitions of agricultural machinery and agricultural processing products were held. The best cotton growers received valuable gifts on behalf of the President.
