The Mejlis of Turkmenistan adopted a resolution on the formation of new settlements in the Ahal and Dashoguz velayats and assigning them official names. The document was signed by the Chairperson of the Mejlis Dunyagozel Gulmanova, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
According to the resolution, two new settlements in the Ahal velayat received the status of villages. The village of Dovletli mekan was created on the territory of the Ongaldy gengeshlik of the Ak Bugday etrap, which also became the new administrative center of the gengeshlik. The village of Bagtly zamana was created on the territory of the Govshut gengeshlik in the Kaky etrap, where the administrative center of this gengeshlik was moved.
In Dashoguz velayat, on the basis of the gengeshlik of Taze yol of the Koneurgench etrap, the village of Bitaraplyk was formed. At the same time, the gengeshlik of Tyaze yol itself was abolished, and five villages that were part of it - Taze yol, Chilter, Gamyshlyoy, Garashsyzlyk and Gazaker - were transferred to the administrative subordination of the new village.
The resolution was adopted on the basis of petitions from the hakimliks of the relevant velayats and a submission from the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan in accordance with national legislation on administrative-territorial division.
The Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan, together with the velayat administrations, has been instructed to describe the administrative boundaries of the newly formed settlements. Corresponding changes will also be made to the official List of administrative-territorial units of the country.
