President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the participants of the final round of the television contest "Ýaňlan, Diýarym!" ("Sound, my Fatherland!"), held on the eve of Independence Day, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
“May you continue to have good luck in creating brilliant musical and song works that glorify the grandiose reforms in the independent neutral Fatherland,” the head of state’s address reads.
The President noted the special significance of musical art in the history of the Turkmen people. According to him, the valiant ancestors of the Turkmen at all times attached great importance to song and music, considering art an unshakable force in the education of the younger generation.
The head of state emphasized that the melodies and songs that have come down through the centuries contain the spiritual and moral values and humanistic ideals of the Turkmen people. According to the president, the art of music and song allowed the people to sing the principles of friendship, brotherhood and peace.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov reminded the importance of the creative heritage of outstanding Turkmen composers and performers, including Hydyr Allanurov, Yolayman Hummayev, Nura Muhadov, Durdy Nuriyev, Gurban Kuliyev and other masters. The works they created, including the songs Aşgabat, Saýra, dutar!, Daglar, have forever remained in the people's memory.
The President expressed confidence that young performers will present modern works with inspiration, glorifying the achievements of the country, and will make a worthy contribution to the development of national art.
