During a working visit to China, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Chinese President Xi Jinping, where they discussed issues of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of education and science, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
As noted at the meeting, the cultural and humanitarian sphere occupies an important place on the agenda of interstate Turkmen-Chinese relations. Currently, Turkmen students are studying in various specialties at higher educational institutions in China.
Having expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for creating favorable conditions for the education of Turkmen citizens, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed Turkmenistan's intention to expand educational ties with China.
The parties emphasized the importance of developing scientific partnerships and implementing joint projects, including in the field of high technology and artificial intelligence. Particular attention was paid to conducting historical and scientific-archaeological research, studying the literary heritage of the two peoples and its mutual popularization.
The head of the Turkmen state noted the growing role of parliamentary, public, women's and youth diplomacy. Turkmenistan confirmed its readiness to discuss joint activities in this area, as well as to use the country's accumulated experience in the field of international parliamentary diplomacy to promote mutual understanding between peoples.
