Korean companies have implemented various projects in Turkmenistan worth a total of over 5 billion USD.
As reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan, among the largest implemented projects is a gas chemical complex in the Balkan velayat for the production of 386 thousand tons of polyethylene and 81 thousand tons of polypropylene worth more than 3,4 billion USD. Also completed was a project for a plant for cleaning commercial gas from sulfur as part of the development of the “Galkynysh” field with a capacity of 10 billion cubic meters annually worth more than 1,484 billion USD.
In addition, a complex was built within the structure of the Turkmenabat Chemical Plant named after S.A. Niyazov for the production of 350 thousand tons of superphosphate and 100 thousand tons of ammonium sulfate per year, worth 682 million USD.
On Friday, a telephone conversation took place between the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the leader of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae-myung. During the conversation, the President of Turkmenistan noted the successful trade and economic partnership between the two countries, "positive experience of interaction has been accumulated" with leading Korean companies such as “Hyundai”, “Daewoo” and “LG”.
The President of the Republic of Korea expressed gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for the favorable conditions provided to Korean companies for fruitful work in the Turkmen market, State News Agency of Turkmenistan writes.
