The Minister of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan approved changes to the national calendar of preventive vaccinations and categories of citizens subject to mandatory vaccination.
The corresponding order No. 330 was signed on July 21, 2025 and amends the procedure for carrying out preventive vaccinations in the country, which has been in effect since 2022.
The new document sets updated deadlines for preventive vaccinations and categories of citizens subject to mandatory vaccination. According to the order, children who have not received preventive vaccinations in accordance with the established deadlines are not allowed to attend educational institutions, including preschools and comprehensive schools.
Exceptions are cases when the violation of the established vaccination deadlines is associated with medical contraindications. In such situations, given a favorable epidemiological situation, children may be admitted to the appropriate children's institutions by decision of a council of doctors.
National calendar of preventive vaccinations
Within the framework of the new order, the following vaccination calendar has been approved:
Newborns and infants
Newborns receive:
- Hepatitis B vaccine (first dose) - HBV 1
2-3 day old infants:
- Tuberculosis vaccine - BCG 1
Infants up to one year
2-month-old infants:
- Complex vaccine against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, viral hepatitis B and Haemophilus influenzae type b - DTP1-HBV2-IPV1-Hib1
- Vaccine against pneumococcal infection - PCV 1
- Vaccine against rotavirus infection - Rota 1
3-month-old infants:
- Complex vaccine against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, viral hepatitis B and Haemophilus influenzae type b - DTP2-HBV3-IPV2-Hib2
- Rotavirus vaccine - Rota 2
4-month-old infants:
- Complex vaccine against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, viral hepatitis B and Haemophilus influenzae type b - DTP3-HBV4-IPV3-Hib3
- Vaccine against pneumococcal infection - PCV 2
- Vaccine against rotavirus infection - Rota 3
Older Children
12-15 Month Old Children:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella Vaccine - MMR1

16 months:

18-month-olds:
- Diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine - DPT4
- Preschoolers and schoolchildren
6-year-olds:
- Hepatitis A Vaccine - HAV
- Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis Vaccine - ADS
- Measles, Rubella, Mumps Vaccine - MMR2
9-Year-Olds:
- Human Papillomavirus Vaccine (for Girls Only) - HPV
14-Year-Olds:
- Tuberculosis Vaccine - BCG 2
15-year-old adolescents:
- Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis vaccine - ADS-M 1
25-year-old adults:
- Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis vaccine - ADS-M 2
The document also imposes additional responsibilities on the heads of enterprises, institutions and organizations. Regardless of the form of ownership, heads and other officials are obliged, within the scope of their authority, to assist health workers in carrying out preventive vaccination activities.
The new procedure provides for an improved reporting system for preventive vaccinations. Statistical data on vaccination plans by age groups of the population will be summarized in stages: first by family clinics, then by health centers, city and district hospitals, and then by city and velayat health departments.
Summarized data on Ashgabat, Arkadag and the velayats will be sent to the Department of Medical and Preventive Care of the Ministry of Health and the Pharmaceutical Industry to compile nationwide reports.
The amendments were made in accordance with Articles 54 and 55 of the Sanitary Code of Turkmenistan dated November 21, 2009, Article 10 of the Law "On the Prevention of Infectious Diseases" dated March 13, 2021, as well as within the framework of the implementation of the state program "Health" approved by the President of Turkmenistan.
The new procedure is aimed at increasing the effectiveness of preventive measures and ensuring the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the country's population. According to the document, control over compliance with this procedure is assigned to the Minister of Health and Pharmaceutical Industry M. Mammedov.
