The Armenian leader was told about the historical values of the mausoleum, and was also informed about the stages and features of the restoration work carried out at this site.
Ambassador Ayazov noted that cultural and humanitarian cooperation is one of the important areas of bilateral Turkmen-Armenian relations.
In early August, during a working visit to Turkmenistan, Khachaturyan visited the Armenian church in Turkmenbashy. The temple was consecrated in 1905, but in the early 1920s, the Soviet authorities demolished its dome and turned the building into a production facility. In recent years, the Turkmen authorities have taken steps to preserve the church and improve the area, expressing readiness for its full restoration, the press service of the President of Armenia reported.
