Among the honored guests of the exhibition "Kids Expo: everything for children", which is currently taking place in Ashgabat, is an expert in the development of memory and mental abilities of children from Türkiye, the founder of MEMORIAD Melik Duyar, also known as "Mr. Memory".
In his interview with the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper, he noted that the mental arithmetic championship, which was held within the framework of the Kids Expo, was truly historic, because Turkmen children not only confirmed their high level of training, but also set three world records in the field of mental sports.
- Records that had been held since 2016 and 2017 and that no one had managed to beat were broken here. This is an incredible achievement. The children showed phenomenal speed and accuracy in the most difficult categories: in oral addition of random numbers, in "Flash Anzan" - lightning-fast counting, as well as in multi-digit multiplication, - the expert emphasized.
As he explained, for example, one of the records was to add 100 random numbers faster than the previous champion, who showed a result of 19,88 seconds. Turkmen schoolchildren did it faster. In another discipline, they added random numbers without errors, and in the most difficult category – multiplying eight-digit numbers – they again showed the best result in the world.
- It requires not only talent, but also a lot of work. I see that children here are not left alone with their abilities, they feel the attention of teachers, the support of families and the state. Otherwise, three world records in one day are simply impossible. It is exciting for me to witness this.
M. Duyar also said that he came to Turkmenistan for the first time, and the country made a very strong impression on him. Modern buildings have been built here, all conditions for the harmonious development of youth are created.
- It is especially symbolic that such an exhibition is held specifically for children. This is a unique experience worthy of admiration. Turkmen children not only inspire their peers within the country, but also become an example for children in other countries. I am sure that they will hear in many parts of the world: "Turkmenistan has broken three world records in mental arithmetic!" - and this will arouse real interest. Other children will strive for new achievements, because examples are the best source of motivation. Turkmenistan has made a huge step in the development of mental sports, and I am convinced that new victories and new world records will be ahead, the expert noted.
