A mental arithmetic competition among children was held at the Kids Expo exhibition in Ashgabat.
The competition jury included teachers from 16 educational institutions of the country. The main expert of the competition and the guest of honor was the founder of MEMORIAD Melik Duyar, which gave the event a connection to the world movement in the field of mental arithmetic, according to the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

Within the framework of this competition, talented schoolchildren from the country demonstrated unique skills in three types of mental arithmetic.
A student of the Secondary Specialized School No. 22 in Balkanabat, Aly Orashov, demonstrated the ability to add 150 two-digit numbers, alternating them, at a speed of 0,3 seconds. Ali gave the correct answer five times in a row, which is a contender for a world record.

Rovach Begendzhov, a student at Secondary School No. 38 in Turkmenabat, correctly added 100 single-digit numbers in a jumbled order and gave the correct answer three times in a row. Thus, Rovach's record is also a contender for a world record.
Mekan Batyrov, a student at Secondary School No. 3 with advanced study of foreign languages in Balkanabat, set a world record for quickly and correctly multiplying eight-digit numbers by heart ten times, which is also worthy of a world record.
