The Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA 10), funded by the European Union, handed over two specialized vehicles for the canine service to the State Border Service of Turkmenistan worth 205 130,44 euros. The handover ceremony took place on August 20, as reported on the website bomca-eu.org.
The vehicles are designed to transport dog handlers and service dogs, which will increase the mobility and efficiency of the canine units. One vehicle will be used at the Central Canine Center in Ashgabat, the second at the Equestrian and Canine Training Center of the School for Training Sergeants and Specialists in Mary.

At the handover ceremony, the EU Ambassador to Turkmenistan Beata Peksa noted the long-standing partnership between the European Union and Turkmenistan in the field of border management. She underlined the EU's commitment to cooperation with Central Asian states within the framework of the BOMCA 10 programme.
Head of the Cynological Service of Turkmenistan Dovletmyrat Gurtlyev expressed gratitude for the equipment provided, noting that the vehicles will significantly increase the readiness of cynological units throughout the country. He emphasized the effectiveness of cooperation in strengthening the cynological services of the border and customs authorities of the region.

This assistance is provided under the "Improving Capacity to Detect Violations" component of the program, which aims to support law enforcement agencies in conducting investigations.
