On July 28–29, the Turkmenbashy International Seaport hosted a regional training seminar on “Security and Risk Management in Seaports”, organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) jointly with the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
As reported on the customs service website, representatives from Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Albania, Montenegro, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, UNODC and other international partners took part in the seminar.
Particular attention was paid to strengthening the legal framework for container transportation and developing international cooperation in this area.
The participants highly appreciated the conditions created in the customs authorities of Turkmenistan for the effective implementation of control, as well as the potential of the Turkmenbashy International Sea Port in facilitating the development of international trade, the source notes.
