These birds look quite smart: they have bright plumage, a yellow chin, and a black stripe along the eye line. Meet the bee-eater, which lives in the territory of the Hazar Nature Reserve of Turkmenistan. The bird's plumage includes blue, green and yellow colors, depending on the variety - whether it is a golden bee-eater or a green one.
These birds can be found around lake Delili in the Esenguly etrap, since there are always many large insects that the bee-eater hunts, according to the website of the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
In summer and autumn, the bee-eater can also be seen on the Caspian coast, on mountain tops, and on power lines that stretch along the territory of the velayat.

The birds nest in burrows dug in cliff walls or on gentle slopes with fairly loose soil. Both the male and female take part in building the nest. They dig the hole with their beaks, using their paws to scrape out the soil. It takes 10-15 days to build a nest 1 meter deep. After building the nest, the female lays three to five round white eggs, which she constantly warms, while the male brings her food. After 20-21 days, the chicks begin to appear.
Since bee-eaters feed on insects, they are of great benefit to agriculture. However, there are cases when these birds eat honey bees, which harms beekeeping. Therefore, hunting them is allowed in places where honey bees are bred, the source notes.
