National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a telephone conversation with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
The President of Uzbekistan turned 68 on July 24. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished Mirziyoyev good health, happiness and success in all endeavors for the benefit of the Uzbek people. The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty also conveyed warm words of greeting and congratulations on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Mirziyoyev expressed gratitude for the congratulations and special attention to the development of bilateral cooperation. The President of Uzbekistan noted the high level of partnership between the two countries, based on friendship, trust and mutual understanding.
"I would like to note with great satisfaction that today Turkmen-Uzbek interstate relations are dynamic. Regular meetings and constructive negotiations contribute to the deepening of bilateral cooperation," Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted.
The parties discussed the development of cooperation in the political and diplomatic sphere, trade and economic direction, including increasing mutual trade turnover and strengthening contacts between business circles. The humanitarian component of relations, including cultural events, exhibitions and concerts, was especially noted.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on the international and regional agenda.
At the end of the conversation, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov once again congratulated Mirziyoyev on his birthday, wishing him health and success in his government activities, and peace and prosperity to the people of Uzbekistan.
