Representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan took part in a regional event in the format of Peer Learning Initiative, organized by the International Trade Center (ITC) in Chisinau with the assistance of the Customs Service of the Republic of Moldova from June 30 to July 2.
According to the Customs Service of Turkmenistan, the event was organized within the framework of the "Ready4Trade Central Asia" project, funded by the European Union and implemented by the ITC.
The training focused on studying best practices in the field of interaction with reliable participants in foreign economic activity and the implementation of authorized economic operators (AEO) programs. These programs play an important role in simplifying international trade and increasing the efficiency of customs procedures.
The event participants exchanged experiences in matters of modernizing customs administration, creating favorable conditions for business and expanding private sector participation in trade facilitation programs.
A separate session with the participation of Moldovan companies holding AEO certificates and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry introduced Moldova’s experience in implementing the AEO program, the source notes.
