There are currently about three thousand students from Turkmenistan studying in universities and colleges in the Astrakhan region. According to the results of last year, the number of Turkmen students in the region increased by 60%.
Issues of educational cooperation and development of export of educational services to the Turkmen market were discussed during a working meeting of the Minister of Foreign Relations of the Astrakhan Region Vadim Golovkov with the Consul of Turkmenistan in Astrakhan Gadam Ilamanov. The parties considered the prospects for cooperation in the field of education and youth policy, as well as the development of humanitarian and trade and economic cooperation between the Astrakhan Region and Turkmenistan, as reported on the VK page of Vadim Golovkov.
Golovkov noted that the Astrakhan Region is expecting a delegation from Turkmenistan to participate in the Caspian Seasons festival and the Tenth Caspian Media Forum. The possibility of holding a press tour of the region in August for representatives of the Turkmen media is also being worked out.
