Registration for the 30th International Conference and Exhibition "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan - 2025" is open in Turkmenistan. The event will bring together national and international oil and gas companies, experts and investors to discuss the development of the region's energy sector.
The conference will focus on attracting foreign direct investment and reviewing trends in the global energy system. Turkmenistan ranks fourth in the world in natural gas reserves after Russia, Iran and Qatar.
The main focus will be on the development of the “Galkynysh” field, the world's largest onshore gas field with reserves of 27,4 trillion cubic meters. Three plants with a capacity of 30 billion cubic meters of gas per year are currently operating there.
Turkmenistan supplies more than 30 billion cubic meters of gas per year to China via the Central Asian Gas Pipeline System. After the fourth line is completed, the volume of supplies will increase to 65 billion cubic meters.
The conference will also discuss the 1853 km long TAPI (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) gas pipeline project, the construction of which began in September 2024.
It is expected that investment projects will be presented for offshore blocks on the Caspian Sea shelf, where international companies ENI, Dragon Oil and Petronas are already operating, as well as plans for the modernization of oil refineries and the development of gas chemical production will be discussed.
In Turkmenistan, the legal basis for investment is provided by the laws "On Hydrocarbon Resources", "On Foreign Investments" and other regulations aimed at creating a favorable investment climate.
